When
KID FIDDLERS first began, Chelsea was the
true backbone. From the time she was born,
she had natural musical abilities far and
above others. She began formal music
training on the piano at the young age of 4,
and progressed quickly. When she picked up
the fiddle at age 8, it was almost too
easy! She began classical training through
the Suzuki method with Kathy Parker, then
branched out to fiddle classes with Wendy
Mahannah. At the age of 12, Chelsea began
work with Mr. Jim Shupe, a genius in
'bluegrass family bands'. He insisted she
learn to play the banjo, as her brothers and
sisters learned additional instruments. In
2001, The Jackson Family Band began
performing at small, local venues - a series
of Retirement homes and church socials.
As the years went by, the venues got bigger
and further from home, and Chelsea's roles
in the band expanded to include main rhythm,
lead solos, lead and harmony vocals, music
selections and arrangements, etc. Audiences
were attracted to her on stage charm,
carisma and beauty. In "Kid Fiddlers
Live 2003", "Kid Fiddlin' 1 1/2", and "Time
of Your Life" (CD's released during her
tenure), Chelsea's instrumentation and
vocals ring out loud and clear.
Chelsea graduated from high school in May,
2006 and began to spread her wings, leaving
the band for college and career. We miss
her and wish her continued success! Kid
Fiddlers will forever be grateful for the
strength and talents that were the core
beginning... |
